Studio study2026

Matter / Form

A modular desktop-object study joining a digital configuration tool with physical FDM prototypes.

Overview

A demonstration of one connected process: define a need, test its interface, fabricate the object, and refine both together.

01

Challenge

Make a configurable physical system intuitive before committing material and print time.

02

Approach

Digital configuration and parametric model decisions were developed in parallel, allowing each prototype to improve the interface and the object.

03

Result

A compact example of First Matter's central promise: the same idea carried cleanly from screen to finished matter.

Finishing

The last ten percent changes the whole object.
